# 17 Learning 2.0 SandBox Wiki

Yoohoo Bloggers! Still roaming the Wikis. This post is for SandBox which is an area within a wiki that you can play with. I haven't spent much time here as I don't really wish to add my blog or any other information to this wiki. It's not something I need to use at the moment and am not very interested in.

See you another time Bloggers....

# 16 Wikis and Innovative ways Libraries use them

Good afternoon Bloggers! Wikis World. That's where I have been today. Wikis are websites where anyone can add, remove or edit information. Not all things can be added to all sites. It depends on the subject matter.
So I have checked out some library wikis. I quite liked the BookLovers wiki where you can be apart of a book group via the web and also look at different collections and reccommendations.
But beware....not all information on wikis are from a reliable source. Anyone can put there opinion on a wiki.

I'm out of here until next time....

# 15 Web 2.0, Library 2.0 and Future of Libraries

Good morning Bloggers! It's early in the day and I am here blogging. It's a bit addictive. This morning I have been reading some articles about the future of libraries in relation to new technologies - THE WEB.
We are moving at a fast rate with web use. We see people every day tapping upon a computer creating documents, searching for homes, researching assignment information or looking for recipes. The more tools that become available on the web the more people will use it.
Going to a library is becoming a thing of the past as I can check the web from the comforts of my own home. We will have to make more information more accessible to patrons. Training may take time but it might open things up for something new.
But there will always be patrons who return to the library frequently. It is still a place for socializing and for educating. And I hope this never changes. People still need the social skills of life and this is found in libraries too. Without people contact where would we be??????

Signing off.... See you shortly

# 8 Useful Library Related Blogs and/news feeds

Back with a blink of the eye Bloggers. Just finishing off my Bloglines exercise. I have added some of the the Learning 2.0 bloggers to my Bloglines account. And a couple of new news feeds. Interesting but enjoyed Flickr alot more. Might be time for a new picture soon.
Just a quick one this time as I wish to get to the next step. Sounds more exciting than this part. Stay tuned....Bye

# 8 RSS & Newsreaders

Hi Bloggers....... Hope all is good out there in Blogland. For the past couple of days I have been learning about RSS feeds. This stands for "Really Simple Syndication". So, instead of ploughing through web sites to get to the bit you would like to read, you can have that bit sent to your account. So, I have set-up a Bloglines account where I have added News feeds that go directly to that account. I have found that this section has taken a bit of time. Not sure if I will use it that much. But always worth a look at.

Next blog coming soon......

Bye for now

# 7 Technology Related Stuff

Hey Bloggers I'm back so soon. Today I must tell you about something technological. My topic is BLOGGING!! What first introduced me to blogging was a project at work. We have been asked to do a thing called Learning 2.0. This is a program designed to introduce staff to new technologies by following a list of 23 Things. So far I have learnt to set-up a blog and chat on the net. And as you can see from my last two posts I have discovered Flickr which has been a lot of fun and I shall delve into further.
As you can see I am only up to no. 7. But will hopefully start to cruise through the list.

Stay tuned for my progress......Bye for now

# 6 Flickr mashups & 3rd party sites

Greetings bloggers!! I have been exploring Flickr again. I have discovered how to create a trading card through Flickr mashups & 3rd party sites. This card shows a fantastic painting by one of my favourite artists Salvadore Dali, a surrealist artist. I was absolutely amazed when I saw this painting. His work can be quite controversial and was surprised to see it in the Vatican Museum. I let out a huge WOW when I saw it. To be able to stand only centimentres from it and take a photo too.
Just magic!

Until next time bloggers.....have fun

# 5. Explore Flickr

ITALY 2006
Originally uploaded by groovey spirits
Hello Bloggers out there. I have had some fun with Flickr, a photo website. I have put some holiday snaps from Italy 2006 up for viewing. I loved Italy. Such a beautiful country with so much history. This photo is of the Colosseum. It is huge as you can see from the size of the people. It's amazing to think that criminals fought each other and animals in the centre of this building. What a strange barbaric race we were, or maybe still are. I highly reccommend you visit Italy sometime. Pop it on your list of places to go.

Well I'm off bloggers. Until next time.......

ENJOY
